I also like most others, have a family, a household to run, a job, albeit part/part time...(or the hobby job as my fellow worker David calls it)
There never seems to be enough time to get all these things done. I don't like to over commit myself but sometimes things just take over and before you know it, that deadline is looming.
I made a Quilt for Fletcher for his 4th Birthday and well he didn't get it on the day, I did however have it finished before the end of his Birthday month. I made a commitment last year to make both Fletcher and Ruby, quilts for their Birthdays this year. While I was a little slack with Fletcher's, I am determined not to let Ruby down.
Now to add to her May Birthday deadline, I have to renovate our investment property in May....so I designated May as a no sewing month....Yes, you can so do that.....I am not sure if you need patches or some fancy chewing gum to get you past the sewing jitters, but I am sure I can stick to the plan......actually I think after renovating all day with my Husband, I'll either be too tired or be in lock up, charged with murder. STOP; before you try and post bail, I was joking about the murder thing, working with my husband will be stress free, yeah right!!!!
So I am going to blow my own trumpet and say I have started Miss Rubys' Quilt....in ruby red tones of course and with gorgeous Kokeshi dolls.

Here is a sneak peak of my work so far.
I have made 4 dolls, each will have a letter from Ruby's name on them.
The faces are hand embroidered.... so sweet.
The fabric is from Riley Blakes' "love Birds" which is so pretty. I also added Alexander Henry's " Starling" which is my all time favourite.( I even have it in purple)

So I will have this ready for Ruby's big day.....pinky promise.
